Inhalation of fibres from asbestos products is known to be a serious hazard to health. Inappropiate handling can also constitute a major hazard to health and the environment. eds carefully control the handling and ultimate disposal of asbestos to ensure protection of health and the environment, with the complete process being fully documented to provide accurate records of removal and disposal.
It is a legal requirement that an asbestos register must be prepared in accordance with HSE publication MDHS 100 for all non-residential buildings and that a full intrusive survey be undertaken of any building prior to demolition. eds employ in-house experienced, trained surveyors to undertake this work and provide documented and referenced reports. Totally independent UKAS Approved Analysts are utilised to undertake air sampling/fibre counting and bulk sampling in full compliance with EN450001, ensuring that the work is carried out safely and efficiently.
eds are a licensed asbestos removal company for work with asbestos insulation, asbestos coating or asbestos insulation board, this license has been held consecutively from 1994, the current licence is valid until August 2006 license no: 4940003743.

In order to keep abreast of the latest techniques and legislative requirements eds are full contracting member of the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association.
Site Audit Accreditation Scheme
eds also participate in the ARCA Site Audit Accreditation Scheme, which involves regular independent audits of operational sites and record keeping systems.
